Terms of service

Terms of Service

Effective date: October 26, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Dina, its related online services, and this support website. By creating an account or using Dina, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into these Terms to create an account or use Dina. Dina is not directed to children. If you are under 18, do not create an account or use the Service.

You further confirm that you are not using the Service from a place against which the United States maintains trade sanctions, and that no United States government list of denied or restricted parties includes your name.

2. Accounts and access

You must provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in method secure, and are responsible for activity authorized through your account. Do not share access, impersonate another person, create accounts to evade a restriction, or use an account without permission. Contact support promptly if you believe someone accessed your account without authorization.

Sign-in options and feature availability may depend on your device, location, age, and the services you choose. Sign in with Apple and other third-party sign-in services are also subject to the relevant provider's terms. We may suspend or terminate an account for a violation of these Terms or to protect users or the Service.

3. The Dina service

Dina lets you keep a restaurant list, record visits and journal statistics, export poster images, discover members, exchange hellos and messages, and create meal proposals. Live content is created by members. Some screens in a particular version may be labeled as demonstrations; sample content is fictional and does not represent real members or experiences.

Dina does not verify identity, conduct background checks, guarantee that a profile is accurate, or supervise meetings. We do not guarantee that any member will respond, meet, or attend a proposed meal. Features, availability, and limits may change.

4. Your content and permission to operate

You retain ownership of the profile information, notes, photos, recordings, messages, and other material you provide ("Your Content"). Only provide content you own or have permission to use. Do not disclose another person's private information or upload recordings or images without the necessary consent.

To operate the features you choose, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, reproduce, format, display, transmit, and distribute Your Content to the recipients and service providers necessary to run the Service, and to review content for safety and legal compliance. This permission is limited to providing and protecting the Service, does not transfer ownership, and ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for backup cycles, content already shared with others, and records we must keep for legal or safety reasons.

You are responsible for Your Content and for the consequences of sharing it. Private notes and private lists are not published. Messages may be copied or screenshotted by recipients, and we cannot control copies held outside the Service.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use Dina to:

6. Safety and real-world meetings

Meeting someone is your decision. Dina does not supervise meetings and cannot confirm that a member is who they claim to be. Choose a public place, tell someone you trust, arrange your own transport, and do not share live location, financial information, or passwords. Report conduct that makes you feel unsafe.

Dina is not an emergency service. If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services. Do not rely on the app or on another member for emergency assistance.

7. Reports, blocking, and enforcement

You can use the Report and Block controls in a profile, conversation, or meal proposal. Reports are reviewed where the Service provides live member content. We may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or terminate an account when we reasonably believe it is necessary to address a violation, protect users, meet legal obligations, or maintain the Service. We may provide notice when appropriate, unless notice would create a safety or security risk or be prohibited by law.

You can contact dinaandfeedback@dinekining.com if you believe a restriction was applied in error or if you need to report urgent abuse. Include the relevant profile or content and enough detail for us to understand the issue. Do not include unnecessary private information.

8. App materials and limited permission to use

We or our licensors own the app software, branding, illustrations, sample images, and other materials supplied through Dina, except for Your Content. We give you permission to access and use the Service for personal, lawful purposes under these Terms and the applicable app license.

Do not remove ownership notices, claim supplied materials as your own, or use our marks without prior written permission. These restrictions are subject to rights you cannot waive under applicable law and any applicable open-source license.

9. Privacy and permissions

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you. Some features require optional permissions, such as microphone, camera, photos, location, or notifications. You can manage those permissions in iOS Settings. Declining a permission may limit the associated feature.

10. Price, devices, and connectivity

Dina is free to download and has no subscriptions, in-app purchases, coins, balances, or paid unlocks. Your mobile carrier or internet provider may charge for data or connectivity. You are responsible for using a compatible device and maintaining the connection needed for online features.

11. Availability, changes, and termination

We may update, maintain, or change features, and may suspend or discontinue the Service or a part of it. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every feature will remain available indefinitely. Where a change materially affects your rights or access, we will provide notice as required by applicable law.

You may stop using Dina at any time and delete your account with the Delete account control in Profile → Settings, or email support if that control is unavailable. We may suspend or terminate your access for a violation of these Terms, unlawful conduct, or a risk to other members or the Service. Provisions concerning ownership, content permissions, disclaimers, liability, indemnity, and governing law will survive termination to the extent permitted by law.

12. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as available" basis without a guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or suitable for every purpose. Dina is not a source of medical, nutritional, allergy, food-safety, legal, or safety advice.

Member profiles, restaurant details, availability, and other user-supplied or third-party information may be inaccurate or incomplete. Verify important information before relying on it. This section does not exclude any warranty, remedy, or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from your use of the Service, or for lost data, lost profits, personal injury, or property damage. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits responsibility for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Dina and its operator from claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your infringement of another person's rights.

14. Apple App Store terms

To the extent you obtain Dina through the App Store, the following minimum terms apply:

(a) No relationship with Apple. These Terms are concluded between you and Dina, not Apple. Dina, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.

(b) Claims. Dina is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to an applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.

(c) Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and Apple has the right to enforce them against you.

15. Governing law and disputes

15.1 Governing law. Delaware substantive law controls these Terms and any dispute touching the Service, even if its rules would otherwise point to another jurisdiction. This does not remove any mandatory consumer-protection law that applies to you in your state or country of residence; where that law gives you greater protection, it continues to apply.

15.2 Informal resolution. Raise any concern with support before taking formal action; the parties will then spend at least thirty (30) days from written notice trying in good faith to settle it.

15.3 Binding arbitration. Every unresolved dispute will instead be submitted to final, individual arbitration through the American Arbitration Association, applying its Consumer Arbitration Rules before a single arbitrator whose seat is Wilmington, Delaware. Any court with jurisdiction may enter judgment on the arbitrator's award. The remedies available to the arbitrator are those a court could provide, consistent with these Terms and the law.

15.4 Class action and jury waiver. Each of us gives up the right to pursue any dispute on a class-wide, collective, consolidated, or representative basis, and we also give up the right to have a jury decide our disputes. A claim may be presented only for the person who is party to these Terms. The arbitrator has no authority to combine separate claims into one proceeding or to hear a representative or class matter.

15.5 Exceptions. Notwithstanding the rest of this section, a party may still file an individual small-claims matter, ask a court for equitable relief to safeguard intellectual property, or rely on a protection the law will not allow us to waive. If the arbitration agreement or the class waiver cannot be enforced, the rest of this section stays in effect.

15.6 Opt-out. To reject arbitration, send an email to dinaandfeedback@dinekining.com within thirty (30) days of first accepting these Terms, using the subject "Arbitration opt-out." After a valid rejection, the parties may bring the dispute in the state or federal courts sitting in Delaware, whose jurisdiction and venue you accept.

16. Updates and contact

We may revise these Terms to reflect changes to the Service or applicable requirements. We will update the effective date on this page and provide notice of material changes as required. Where further consent is required, we will request it before the change applies.
